Christopher Hart (novelist)

Christopher William Napier Hart (born 1965) is an English novelist and journalist. He writes for the ''Sunday Times'' the ''Daily Mail'' and the ''The Literary Review'' He is the author of ''The Harvest'' (1999) and ''Rescue Me'' (2001), and has written six historical novels under his two middle names, William Napier.
==Background==
Born in Gloucestershire, Hart was educated at Cheltenham College and Leicester University, then went to Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University) where he studied English and Art History, and Birkbeck College, London, where he obtained a PhD on W.B.Yeats.
Under his original name he has written two contemporary novels, The Harvest and Rescue Me. Since 2001, he has written six historical novels under the pseudonym of William Napier, three of them a best-selling trilogy about Attila the Hun and the Fall of the Western Roman Empire. His work has been translated into fourteen languages, including Korean and Azerbaijani, and well-reviewed in both ''Sunday Sport'' and the ''Times Literary Supplement''.
As a journalist he has also worked as literary editor of the ''Erotic Review'' (magazine folded) and agony aunt for ''Time Out'' (sacked). He currently writes regularly for the ''Sunday Times'', where he is lead theatre critic, and the ''Daily Mail''. He claims descent from the Irish Napiers and the Earls of Banbury (now defunct.)
